Courtyard Garden

This courtyard garden needed to serve two functions: a beautiful space to relax in which complimented the adjoining historic houses, and a space in which the two children and a dog could still have room to play.

The outdoor seating area was placed in the western corner to get the best of the evening and late afternoon sun when the family tend to dine together.  Colour and scent was bought in through planting which not only clothe the walls of this enclosed courtyard but also run through central beds, including a small herb garden.

A lawn area was retained for play equipment and paths were constructed in a small circuit for chasing, cycling and scooting.
